Elsa Erazor III - Swiss Pocket Knife for Video

  by Tim "Flyboy" Henderson

Here are some AVI's I produced.

I found two codec's to be particularly powerful. The first is the AVI codec for Intel Indeo 5.0. The second was the MJPEG codec for AVI format. The former produces good quality images in half the space of the latter, but the latter was a nice compromise when I wanted superior quality. The MOV format was the smallest of them all, but quality suffered badly.

In spite of the occasional crash in the MainActor Sequencer, the software is quite powerful, with a separate video editor and a powerful sequencer. The range of effects you can access in the sequencer module would be beyond the needs of most home video editors.

SUMMARY

The Erazor III is not the fastest TNT2 board out there. But it is loaded with features and comes bundled with some very powerful video editing software. You can watch TV on your desktop, or record your favorite sim session to VHS tape. You can make your own AVI's, or you fly your favorite simulation. And you can even fly in 3d!

After a brief search on the net I found a price of $145 US. Quite a bargain, and I highly recommend this board.
