2359Z: 3DFX Components and Losses
  • 3DFX said today that revenues for the three months ending July 31, 2000, which is the second quarter of its 2001 fiscal year, will be lower than previous expectations due to the company not receiving a substantial portion of certain components a supplier committed to provide.
2200Z: Aces High 1.031 Patch
  • After releasing patch 1.03, HiTech Creations have released another update that fixes critical errors. Click HERE to download.
2000Z: Warship Database Name Change
  • The Warship Database Project Team have changed their name to the Naval Warfare Simulations Team (NWS Team). This coincides with ther new website which will be covering 7 of the best naval combat simulations presently on the market or to be released soon. The changes also incorporate into their newsletter as the Naval Warfare Simulations Newsletter. The next version of the database project is moving forward and they hope to have their Falklands War 1982 completed after the next update. The new website will now be covering the following titles:
    • Fleet Command with the WDP
    • Harpoon4
    • Fighting Steel
    • Destroyer Command
    • Silent Hunter II
    • F/A-18 Hornet
    • Age of Sail 2

1731Z: Crimson Skies Site
  • Microsoft have announced the launch of the all-new Crimson Skies Web site at http://www.microsoft.com/games/crimsonskies/. The site features a host of new content, including "classic" radio shows about the game's air pirates, an interview with the game's producer, new screens shots and images, and Spicy Air Tales, a serialized novel about the game's characters. Microsoft is also kicking off the "Best Crimson Skies Fan Site Contest," featuring two grand prize trips to the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Washington, to meet the design team behind this innovative game.
1700Z: Falklands War 1982 Update
  • Warship has informed us that work on the Falklands War 1982 is still underway. They experienced several problems during beta testing this weekend (not releated to WDP) and has set back the release of FW1982. They hope to have their highly anticipate mod out on the heels of the next Warship Database Project version due out in a few weeks.

1640Z: Falklands War 1982 for Jane's FC
  • Warship has sent us an update on the Falklands War 1982 mod for Jane's Fleet Command. All British warships have been designed along with their embarked aircraft and are presently being tested. (Sheffield, Leander 2, Leander 3A, Rothesay, Amazon, Broadsword, Bristol, County, Invincible, Hermes). Some of the new weapons now include cluster bombs, Sea Cat SAM, Sea Slug SAM, and Ikara ASW missile. Release date for the first installment is now set for June 23-25, 2000 to allow for more testing time and scenario work. Click HERE to visit their web site.
1600Z: Propeht II GTS 64Mb Bios Update
  • Hercules is releasing a new BIOS for the 3D Prophet II GTS 64 MB that will ensure total compatibility with all motherboards and all NVIDIA interfaces. This new BIOS clocks the core chipset at 200MHz and the memory at 333MHz as specified by NVIDIA's reference design.   • Microsoft Corp. today announced it acquired Chicago-based Bungie Software Products Corp., a independent developer of action oriented computer and video games. As a result of this acquisition, Microsoft gains exclusive publishing and distribution rights to select Bungie-developed titles, including the sci-fi action game "Halo."
