Deploy line infantry, skirmishers, riflemen, minutemen, grenadiers, militia, field cannon, and heavy cavalry, and use terrain, cover, and the line bonus to hold morale steady under fire. Call in howitzers, mortars, and heavy cannons, then spend Influence on commands like Rally and Mass Charge to turn the tide of battle.

Between engagements, players lead a single army across the colonies in real time, managing Supplies and Fatigue as fog of war conceals enemy positions and the seasons turn from summer heat to winter snow. Officers can be created from a choice of backgrounds, from physician to cavalryman to orator, each shaping starting resources and the events that follow as players fight to retake occupied cities for the Continental cause or quell the rebellion for the Crown.
