You know it, Corsair has been dominant with their high-end and flagship gaming keyboards. However, they’re still offering some very desirable keyboards in a far more interesting product category in that sub 70 USD space. With the new K55 RGB Pro (XT), Corsair wants to offer a board keyboard series that aesthetically and technically looks like the high-end models, at a far lower and fair price.

Corsair is one of the biggest names in the industry, and over the years, they’ve delivered many of the greatest gaming keyboards we’ve ever seen. It’s more than likely that you’re typing on a Corsair keyboard right now or that you at least own one Corsair product as part of your PC gaming setup. However, where they’re often better known for their full-size mechanical keyboards, such as the K95. Today, they’re launching a tiny mechanical keyboard. The K65 RGB Mini is even smaller than a TKL keyboard, and it’s what’s known as a 60% mechanical. Don’t confuse smaller with fewer features, though, as Corsair has equipped this with an impressive suite of hardware and software.

It has been almost 6 years since Cougar released the 700K Aluminum Gaming keyboard. It received the iF Design Award in 2014. Now, it’s time for the new version with a suffix – Evo – clearly suggesting that it’s an evolution (the full name is Cougar 700K Evo). Again, it has Cherry MX mechanical switches, an aluminum frame, and G-keys (similar to Corsair’s K95 Platinum, which we reviewed recently). The Cougar 700K Evo is a flagship mechanical gaming keyboard aimed at (guess who) … gamers, and primarily MOBA/MMO fans. So what are the main differences compared with the predecessor? The RGB lighting and the wrist rest made of the leatherette material. It’s possible to control the lighting effects via the COUGAR UIX™ System. It lets you set the functions of all the keys, store macros, and create your own backlight effects. The 700K EVO´s internal memory allows to store up to three full configuration profiles. The ergonomic wrist rest is made of plush leatherette that really looks nice and provides comfort even during long gaming sessions.

I’ve reviewed a lot of keyboards over the years, a few of them membrane, but most of them were mechanical. We don’t see many slim models come through the office, and even less so, mechanical and slim together. A lot of our readers are enthusiast gamers, and they tend to favour mechanical keyboards, which are rarely available in a slim format. Now MSI thinks they’ve found the solution, with the slim and mechanical MSI Vigor GK50 Low-Profile gaming keyboard. Using a new custom switch type, it promises MX Blue style clicky switches in a keyboard that stands just 34mm at the thickest part, giving it a pretty slick design.

Aluminum and RGB

At first glance the HyperX Alloy Origins has what it takes to be an outstanding keyboard, and it showcases the company’s new HyperX ‘Red’ switches. We have looked at various HyperX keyboards in the past, such as the Alloy FPS and FPS Pro and the Alloy FPS RGB, but these used Cherry MX Red and Kailh Silver Speed switches, respectively.

They were one of the first companies in the field, with their earliest ergonomic products released nearly three decades ago. That makes Kinesis one of the oldest peripherals manufacturers, with the brand establishing a solid number of followers over the years.
