Hi there! Before I start to install, here are som requests from a CFS Newbie. Although I might add that I have a lot of hours in FS2000, EAW, and now B-17II.

What I mainly wanted to ask is if there are any important things to know wbout this sim?

There are a lot of hidden features and special details in B-17 which can increase the fun rapidley...but if u dont know about, it does not make sense. Any patch or update avalavble and worth get it for CFS2? I know there are a lot of planes at flightsim.com.
What else can u tell me 'bout that game what is not in the manual?

Thanxs very much for ur time.

Welcome to CFS2!

There are no patches - but there are several really good modifications to improve the atmosphere. Visit Nibbio's web site and download all his add-on files - they are great.

nibbio http://web.tiscalinet.it/jobim/cfs2

Go to http://www.thehangar.dogfighter.com

and download the files that make the AI aircraft flyable. You will have to put in one of the other aircraft panels to have instrumentation in front of you (2D - no 3D available). There are also fixes for positioning the aircraft on the carrier for heavy weight takeoffs and a fix for the rear gunner who is in a locked position in the initial simulation.

Use the search mode of this site and a few key words to track down some of this stuff. It will improve the simulation - trust me

Here are a few of my favorite sites to look in to for CFS2 goodies:
http://thehangar.dogfighter.com
http://cfs2.dogfighter.com
http://www.flightsim.com

Also for more missions - look up Warspirtll in the search mode for his URL.

Alright, thats what I was hoping for. FS2000 has an very open structure, and CFS2 seems to follow this idea. What a pity that B-17II files are really locked. Could be the best sim ever it we could change all the things which not work now...its still fine that way, but I wanted to strafe some airfields, lose som small bombs, and make the japs running (hey, not meant as an insult...just the spirit of the teim, plz dont take it serious)

Far more, u might call me to sensious...but I like it better to play War in an area which will never be of interest for me, than in the area where my grandparents got the crap bombed out of them. thats one of the thoughest points in B-17II for me...
