Just got my new system a P3 933 with 265 mb RAM and a Soundblaster Live running Win ME. I tried to connect an analog stick and it wouldnt detect it. So I connected my MS FFB Sidewinder and installed the 3.00 version drivers for it, but ME still wouldnt detect the stick. Anyone had this happen before? Please shed some light on this!
Thanks

I had some problems with my MS pro so I bought a USB stick and it works very well with ME.

Thanks guys. After posting here, I searched the MS site, and found out that this is a known issue, they arent sure if its an ME issue specifically, or that sound drivers havent been specially written for ME yet.
Anyway for anyone else having this prob I saw the "official" workaround:
Click Add Hardware and pass through the plug and pray part. When you get to having it detect NON plug and play, choose to select the device yourself, and add your stick

arg.
well for anyone interested here's how I fixed my problem, and a brief description.

I figured the creative gameport might have been messing up becuase the new mobo has on board sound and a gameport, but no!

I plugged in the sidewinder, added a custome joystick with 3-axis, 4 buttons, rudder etc and presto...there it is, not the sidewinder mind you, but close enough for now until they get their act together and figure out how to get all of their products working together like a big happy family.

Wait a minute guys, I have Windows Me running with a Soundblaster Live Player 1024 and there have been NO problems, be it with the MS FF pro, MS Gamepad, Thrustmaster Ferrari FF Wheel, CH Flight Yoke USB...but:

There is a bug in the UPDATE versions of Windows Me that will not update all *.vxd files. This affects Input devices as well, for instance the Thrustmaster Ferrari FF Wheel will NOT work with the UPDATE version of Windows Me, but it works perfectly with the FULL version of Windows Me.

I have the german FULL OEM version running.

i have the full version too.

same problem. it's like the software cant figure out that its a sidewinder that is connected. if i could find it in the "Have disk" dialog it might be ok, but the 3d pro isnt there. Is this their attempt to force you to upgrade??

The wife wont let me have the new PC till Xmas, so if they dont have a fix for ME or SB Live! drivers by then I'll just dump the OS and install 98.
