Pretty good going, #3. Even beat Rollercoaster Tycoon this week!

I just don't understand how people can find any enjoyment in playing something like the sims, or rollercoaster tycoon (whatever it is).

I guess the biggest thing that's killing flight sims is the fact that you need a powerhouse PC to run most of them. You can run rollercoaster tycoon on a 386 with no problems. LOL

Take Janes FA18 for example. I love the sim and it's very realistic has all the bells and whistles, but when you put min specs that read Pentium class 300 Mhz on the box and you get 12-15 FPS with a 800Mhz not too many people are going to buy that sim. The FA18 team has moved on after one little minor patch (which only fixed a couple of minor things and never addressed performance) and has yet or will ever provide support for it.
Don't get me wrong i am a diehard simmer and will put forth the extra cash to be able to run these puppies, but in order for this type of game to hold interest or even stir new interest these companies are going to have to start letting these programmers finish these sims and make sure they run well before releasing them.
Pretty sad when Big Buck Hunter has bigger sales than a top notch sim.

Then you should try it; they are lots of fun and a good change of pace. Being a hot chit pilot 24/7 can get tiresome, too.

My thoughts exactly Seawolf - not everyone can afford to upgrade once a year. Buggy software (early F4 and GUNSHIP to name a few.) and unrealistic system requirements
are hurting this genre.

Honestly, I thought Sim style city building games were boring myself, until I got the game Pharoh. They are extremely addictive. You sit down and start playing, next thing you know, hours have gone by.

I used to love Sim City 2000. Making a dictator of myself . Building statues of me, using the army against protestors.

Right now I play these the most:

Janes F-18
EAW
Starcraft
Unreal Tournament
Swat 3 Demo (Saving up $60 . I must have played this mission at lead 140 times in the last week.)
