Hi,

in the Cfs2.cfg file, what does the following mean?

[SOUND]
Channels=1
SamplesPerSec=11025
BitsPerSample=8

will modifying it help? Cos i find the sounds a little soft and unimpressive for an SB Live card.

Thks

Yes, I changed mine and it made the everything sound much better.

[Sound]
Channels=1
SamplesPerSec=44100
BitsPerSample=16

Make these modifications and enjoy the difference.

Remembering that at that rate you may very well get up to a 30% resource hit on your CPU.

I'm running my PII 450 and have absolutely no difference in framerate when running with sound or without sound. Didn't notice any difference when I switched from 8 to 16 bit. So, I doubt that's an issue.

It increases the quality of the sound effects in the game to put it simply. Don't do it if you don't have some type of good sound card (pretty much anything PCI)

Thanks for the find, I am going to try that when i get off work. Haven't looked into that file at all. Wonder what other goodies are in there for the tweaker

...also change Channels to 16 (instead of the default 1) for a big improvement...

It works just as well to simply delete that whole section, and then it defaults to the max values. If you have problems, just delete the CFS2.cfg and it will re-generate it the next time you run the game.

If you have certain gamecard/MOBO/video card combos, the max settings can cause erratic joystick performance, so if you have problems, just delete the CFS2.cfg and it will re-generate it the next time you run the game.
