I really love this game, but I find that the tracer fire is really weak looking. I found the file that contains the particle system information for the tracer, but am having some problems understanding all the parameters. From what I've found out, the file fx.guns.fx under the effects folder contains all the information for the tracer model. I have some basic understanding of how particle systems work from my 3d modeling, but I am confused as to why there is two sets of values for X,Z, and Y scale. The way the particle systems work is that there is 1. first an emitter system, that you must define the area of effect for the FX, 2. The particles themselves, with size information, 3. the color and texture information for the particles. What I am trying to do is to modify the tracer particle system so that it is a tad larger, and has mode of a random "wobble" to it. Also, I'd like to be able to model the phosperus(sp ?) rounds by inserting the smoke trail particle information from the rocket file (particle system 3 from fx.rcktxt.fx file). Anyways, I'm going to be busy with midterms for the next week so I probably won't have time to mess around with it much, but I thought I'd just share what I've found with you guys. Also, the FX texture files are in the textures folder of the CFS2 directory. Happy hacking!
