Need your opinion.

I'm thinking of getting a Wingman Force FB stick to replace my aging F-16 FLCS & MarkII. Is the effect worth the lack of HOTAS??

I just did a similar thing. I bought the Wingman Force to replace my broken Saitek hotas. Well, after about four months, I've stopped using the Wingman and gone to the CH hotas setup. The Logitech stick works OK, but the loss of all the buttons is not worth it. I was playing Mig Alley and that was good since you really didn't need many buttons (just point and pull the trigger). Once II got C-H, I found it very difficult to fly and use the weapons systems without the hotas. Plus, most sims don't support force feedback anyway. To answer your question: no, force feedback is not really worth it when compared to a hotas system. It is a good joystick for the general crowd, but not so good for the serious simmer.

Hope this helps.

hmmm I must disagree with the previous posters..I also own a Logitech Wingman Force and think it is one of the best Joysticks outthere (I think that Logitech makes great products but that is another discussion).

Nothing is better than feeling the kickback of a joystick when flying Microsoft Combatflight Sim.

Howerver: I am having problems using my forcefeedback in combination with DirectX 7 and my GeForce. So if u own a Geforce maybe u should reconsider.

For serious simming however I use my Talon F15. U can get it for bargan prices.

Hope I could give u some advice,

Regards,

Laphter,

I have a Logitech Wingman Force with all of the original software that I would sell you for a reduced price. The stick is in perfect condition, I just have a Microsoft FF stick as well and can't use both.

Let me know if you are interested. Post here or drop me an email.

Oh, yes force feedback is nice in a flight sim. There's nothing like feeling the missile leave the wing.

Thanks alot for all your responses.

I opted for a GeForce video card instead since my Thrustmaster gear still works fine!!
