S! greetings everyone! I treid flying the me-110 for the 1st time last night, in the bob campaing. It was quite fun actually and i rather enjoyed flying the aircraft. It however has 1 very bad flight characteristic...it goes into a flat spin! Are these spins recoverable? I tried nosing down and applyng full rudder opposite to the spin direction..but no luck.

Yup, but you need a lot of altitude. Like 10-15,000 feet of altitude, at least, just to recover control. Probably another 1000 or so to get speed up. Which is to say that if you go into a flat spin below 17,000 feet, jump out. The key seems to be to get the nose down first, before touching rudder controls and trying to stop the spin. But it takes some time.

I'm flying a 110 career in '43, and fortunately it's all bomber intercepts, 20,000ft plus. The G4/R4 model is a killer...(4 x 30mm and 4 x 20mm, yes, I'm a cheater ).

Yes,you can recover if you got enough altitude.
1.Throttle back.
2.Stick forwad and opposit the spin.
3.Stand on the rudder pedal opposit the spin.
4.Drop your landing gear, the extra drag forces the nose down.
5.Don't over-correct when the plane starts to come out of the spin or you'll just spin the other way.The plane comes out of the spin pretty quick so be ready to just flow into flight again, don't jerk it around and don't worry unless you are looking up at the trees instead of down at them.
Hope this helps.

S! thank for the replys as always. Dropping the landing gear didnt even occure to me at the time...but makes alot of sense. I was probably at 12,ooo feet anyway so was bound to crash anyway. Good hunting chaps!
