Thanks for your guys patience beforehand, but ave only one question.I have EAW 1.2,and meatwaters full sound pack, a small gunsight
download, and Karnaks Allied radio music. Do
I need to uninstall all this and start from scratch to download EAC 1.4 and ECAPanel 2.0?
I know this has probably been covered before, but I want to make sure. Love the game to much to screw it up. PS Dog_Boy, find somewhere else to practice your litigation.

Sorry Randy- But I have been instructed to interrupt proceedings to rectify a misunderstanding that occurred during the festive season:

Messrs Himmler, Hess und Heydenrich handle all litigation matters for the Axis side, and Messrs Hubble, Hump and Snodgrass all litigation on the Allied side.

This Dogs Body or Dog Boy or whatever has no leg to stand on ( ) or even a pot to *iss in. He has not been accredited by any of the registration bodies, and are probably some free-lance wanna-be doing part time third party accident claims hoping to make it into the major league?

Back to download questions- sorry for the interruption!

No, you don't need to start from scratch. Take a look at the readme of ECA 1.4, there is a list which files are added or changed. The gunsight download is a *.spt-file, and ECA/EcaPanel does not make any changes to the sound, no *.snd-files added or changed.

Simply install it - anything should work right!

At the risk of attracting the unwanted attention of a shyster, I'll brazenly volunteer to answer randy's question. But first........

Now that that's out of the way (I always get nervous at the thought of anyone named Himmler possibly being on my tail ), randy, I think you're in pretty good shape with the way things are right now. Many people do recommend a fresh install when using ECA and CP, but I didn't find it necessary for my first installation of EAW (it's still running fine as is). Still, if you do want to uninstall first, it might be recommended since that way, if any problems do develop later, you'll know the problem's not due to any conflicts of that nature! Really, uninstalling is not that hard.

If you saved all your downloads, they're easy to reinstall. As for any careers that you currently have running or Single Missions that you might have saved, those are easy to preserve too. All of these are stored in the "Savedata" folder in your European Air War Folder (if you installed to the default folder the path would be---C:\Program Files\Microprose Software\European Air War\savedata). The career files are stored with names like career00.sve, careere01.sve, etc. Single Missions that you have saved are named FS000000, FS000001, etc. All you have to do is find or create a "safe" folder (that is: one that is not in "European Air War", "Microprose Software", or "savedata" since these 3 folders will be deleted when you uninstall!). Then open the "savedata" folder and drag or copy all of your careerXX.sve files and FS0000XX files to the "safe" folder. Now you have preserved these files. Go ahead and uninstall, then reinstall EAW. Afterwards, open your "safe" folder and drag or copy all of those careerXX.sve files and FS0000XX files to your new "savedata" folder. It's that simple.
