As you may know, I kept my P II 400 as long as I did so I could inform my readers with low-end systems. The price paid was sweat everytime I loaded a high-end game.

Now I re-installed and played B-17 II and loaded Il-2 without waiting 15 minutes for the files. Ahhh, the relief and joy to know there'll be no crashes or fooling with configs.

Bismarck,

It's nice to wait to get a new machine, then the upgrade is all that much sweeter

My PIII 500 MHz is due for an upgrade too!

Roger that Douglas,

My old rig sounds downright peppy in comparison. I did a mini upgrade a few months
back and upgraded the AMD 600 to a 900, and the ATI to an Nvidia GeForce2.

I have a grand squirreled away for a full system upgrade come September. Looking for
a better price on a 2Ghz/GeForce4 by waiting `til then. I can't wait!

Now that you have IL-2 running smooth, we oughta hook up on Ubi or something someday
soon-ish, Bismarck...
