I recieved word that you cannot pilot dive or torpedo bombers. What a bummer. Is this true?

Well, you can with Airbuddhas AI plane tweaks. He took the Dauntless, Avenger and the Devastator and made them flyable. With the Aired program, you can get the B-24, B-25 and the C-47 to fly as well. And yes the torpedoes do work!

My Avenger or Dauntless (forgot which one)didn't show the torpedo on their fuselage. unlike the devastator. Does anyone have the same experience ?

I believe the Avenger stores the torpedo in an internal bomb-bay.

Thats true, but how do you open the bomb bay? The dauntless carries no torpedo. The Kate does however.

If you look at the bay doors, you can see that they look like they should open. Maybe I'm just seeing things. Oh well.

Whoever said there wasn't any dive bombing in the game is wrong. There IS dive bombing... In fact, there's even a dive bombing training mission. No torpedoes though...
