I noticed on some of the screenshots that the textures are very detailed. On One I saw recently, you can see the rivets on the textures. Amazing. However, I have my graphic settings maxed and don't see that kind of detail.

Don't get me wrong, they still look incredible, I'm just wondering if my hardware is up to it.

[email protected], V3 3000, 128RAM, MX300.

Is it time to upgrade my vid card (probably V5 5000) or maybe more RAM?

Regards,

Scat

It's probably your card, can the V3 handle textures over 256x256 in size? If not thats the problem, since the rivets probably only appear on the 512x512 or 1024x1024 textures.

Thanks, von_M that's exactly what I figured. If I went with the V5 5000, will that do 512x512 or even 1024X1024 or should I go with a GeForce card?

There's another explanation.

The Corsair was the first fighter aircraft to use smooth, low drag, spot welding on exterior panels instead of rivets. At least on the F4U, a smoother texture is realistic. Hellcats have rivets!

Good hunting.

Scat,
I'm not sure offhand what the max file texture resolution is on the V5 but it can definitely do 512x512. Not to mention the FSAA which really makes things sweet at 1024x768.

Well, rivet gawking may be nice for the external sight seeing, but if I get close enough to count rivets in combat, slap me.

Don't forget to check the "Use High Detail" option in the Graphics --> Images Tab!

The V5 can do 2048x2048 32 bit textures.

I'm new to CFS and CFS2.

How do you edit (paint) the CFS2 textures? There is nothing to go by in PSP or some other viewers I have tried. Most show a white rectangle.

Thank you.
