I've been flying all the combat missions in both theatres before starting a campaign and I've noticed something I've never seen before in a helo sim. Namely, some mission objectives are time-sensitive and if you don't accomplish them by a certain time the objective is a failure no matter if you sweep the map clean of hostiles. Ex: In one mission I have to support the advance of 2 armored thrusts into enemy territory. If I allow myself to be sidetracked for too long taking out juicy targets of opportunity (like AAA & SAMs) then the advance fails and so does my mission. I can take out all the targets I want *after* supporting the advance but if I don't hustle to accomplish these type of objectives first then I'm screwed. I rather like this "sometimes you *must* focus on the mission objectives" approach, as well as the "some missions are surprisingly easy while others make you weep from frustration" setup. I plan on starting a campaign as soon as I'm feeling especially masochistic...

I know what you mean. Those Targets of Opprotunity are way too tempting, but you must be disciplined I guess. I love this sim.

Don't wanna spoil the party but this was quite common in LB2, namely for CAS and Escort missions.

Is it that obvious?
But hey, only if justified!
