There have been a slew of posts recently about how to work our common addiction to EAW into the marriage relationship. But I think you married guys have it easy. I mean, both you and your better halves are already into the relationship, and would presumably have to think twice about going to Reno just because of a computer game.
What about us single guys? We're still running around out there trying to make a good impression - you know, to prove we're the sensitive and steady types who can change a tire, fix the back steps, and can still shed a tear during a flick like Bridges of Madison County. I can see getting maybe choked up over Bridges at Toko Ree, myself. But you get the picture. You get her back to the apartment, having previously taken down your posters of the Swedish Bikini Team, and then what? How do you broach the fact that no matter how wonderful, smart, sexy, and accomodating she might be, this girl of your dreams will always have to take a back seat to EAW, no matter what! I mean, shouldn't we start things off being honest and dispell any unrealistic expectatins they may have with regard to our true priorities?
I'm asking because I seek guidance. Just so next time, when during the height of a very intimate moment with a ladyfriend, there won't be hurt feelings on her part when, instead of shouting out her name, I bellow, "This is arrow control". I'm all ears.

Well, maybe this is the right thread to ask this question i've been asking myself for some time:

Are there any girls at all in this forum? Or even girls loving flightsims? Never met one of that type, ya know...

No luck with finding a fellow female airplane nut; that's too much of a dream come true for such a phenomenon to be real, I think. Though I'm not single, my GF/SO doesn't seem to understand the obsession either.

I will say that she stands by patiently and quitely when I'm reading stuff on EAW and everything related to it, and she has not protested when I STRONGLY suggest we go to airshows, visit airports when they have open houses, or take a detour to local aircraft museums. The open day at Arlington Municipal Airport where the B-17 taxied up and shut down practically in the crowd, almost directly in front of me (god what a sight!), I almost started drooling and giggling at the same time. She just stood there, really, BUT, she didn't make any snide remarks or whine about wanting to leave. I guess that's all I can ask at this point in time.

However, in the future when we live together (I'm going to school in Dallas and she still lives at home in Arlington), it might be a different story entirely, and I don't mean in a good way. I think she'll just have to deal with it.
