Mein Herren-

I finally succumbed to the lure of the PTO, und downloaded ze appropriate skins und terrain, und flew a mission- Ach- und vhot a surprise- Mein wingmen spoke excellent German!-Must have attended courses at a very good school in Deutschland- not even an oriental accent!!

Und zhen I tried flying für ze Ruskis, und zhey spoke like Tommies?

An idea/request- Mit ze package that Herr SechsnulNeun Relent are making für changing "themes"-

Would it be possible (Ja- Ich weiß that this will take a lot of HD space- but who needs other games apart from EAW!!?) für you Komputer specialists to do ze following:

1) Have a Russian theme (skins/language/sound/scenery) pack, a Pacific theme (skins/language/sound/scenery), a mediteranean, european etc. theme than you can change mit ein third party programme similar to Herr Mattm's EAWSTAB?
2) Make Russian (Herr Schattenjeager) and Japanese (Herr Bucky-s) sound files für EAW.
3) More skins für Med und PTO ???(I miss ze Hurri II, Boston/Baltimore/Beaufighter und Italian crates und especially the P40 Tomahawk in ze desert?)

Ja- I know I talk a lot und contribute a little- But what about it- can zhis be done?

Danke

E.R.

Herr Feldmarshall,

to have theatre specific languages you will need at least 1 set of wingmen speech-files(copied over the other two sets) for each airforce that substitudes a other.

So for example Japanese for the Germans in PTO, and Russian for the British and the US Flyers.

If anyone speaks a convincing Russian or Japanese and has the time, he has to do roundabout 100 speech files, maybe he has enough time to include correct plane names(not refering to Zeros as Fw190s).

Herr Feldmarshall do u agree zhat evrey man und evrey Frau zhat achieves zhis should be rewarded with zhe Knights cross?

Herr Tannen

Ja- Der Ritterkreuz mit Bells und Whistles, und going to bed at night knowing that he/she has done so much to help others to enjoy ze game so much more und erecting a statue to zhemselves that would outlast zhere short brief sorjourn on zhis planet (Whisper o you think zhis would convince zhem Herr Tann? )

Herr Tobi- dream on !!

Anybody can speak zhis languages??
I know Herr Schatenjaeger/Herr Flick can speak ROOSIAN.
Herr Bucky-S- Japanese?

Danke

The only russian word I know is 'nastrovye' - and it's not much of use in EAW...

The only two russian words I know are "Nyet" and "Tovaritch"(sic..I can say it dammit)

These would be used in EAW....but could get pretty boring after awhile...No comrade, no comrade......sounds like my bloody Ami wingmen.

And to E.R. AND ALL YOU OTHER FAITHLESS DOUBTERS!!:

ROWAN ARE MAKING A BOB GAME THIS YEAR.
AND A PTO GAME NEXT YEAR?

Ok?

If the Spanish Civil War was on the sight, we (Spanish Flyers) we could help. Imposible with Russian or Japanese.

With mane_raptor and I working on a sound changer for EAW it will be possible to do this. But we need people who know Russian, Italian, or Japanese. If you can find them have them record the normal EAW phrases.

Hopefully mane_raptor and I will finish the sound switcher soon.

Ach Himmel! Apologies all around, I have been busy polishing mein Tiger (wipe those smirks off your faces) preparing for the ground war with the Ami's in Italy. Plus my computer has decided to turn traitor and hasn't been cooperating with me on the internet connection. Bad phone lines it seems. But yes I can speak Russian but I'm out of practice and some Italian too, same out of practice feeling.

Anyhow, I'm interested in seeing what this proposed sound switcher does. I could do Russian and some Italian voices but the problem is that I need to get a format where I can record them and save them. Recording won't be a problem, I was in a band and our guitar player has a pretty good computer recording setup, the problem is:

1) Getting from a format that I can record in into one that EAW recognises.

2) Knowing how many of the files I need to do for all the wingmen, ground control and briefing files. Plus knowing which ones would be switched if using American sounds, like in the MiG-3 that uses the Mustang, etc.

3) Knowing what the numbers are for all of those files. You know the actual **.**01 etc for the different dialog bits.

If I can get these then it wouldn't be a problem, could be a little time consuming and I'll have to draft additional voice talent and write them some phonetic scripts for the wingmen but that should be okay.

The problems are, just knowing how to get them into a recognisable format and getting the time to get them done. I'll see what I can do on the drafting of people to speak it and the recording stuff.

Herr Rommel, let me know if anything new develops this week as most of my time's being spent preparing to run around in a panzer and I haven't been checking boards all around like normal. Danke.

I have a couple of friends that speak Japanese, and I'm trying to find the time to get the right phrases recorded. When I do get all these recorded, maybe someone could help me get them into a usable state for EAW? Like Schatten, I have no idea what to call all the dialogue files. But the string files in EAW tell me all the subtitles for the German wingmen, and that's all I really need to know to do the recording. I'm going to send these subtitles to bucky-s for help with translation, since my friends probably aren't familiar with WWII Japanese pilot lingo (bucky-s does translations for Hasegawa models).

Don't worry about formats guys like file names. Those can be changed later by me.

I will get a list to you guys of German, American, and British phrases that you will translate as soon as possible.

My good ole Spit IX with the blue spinner is getting rusty.
