I'm looking for some Jane's Fighter's Anthology missions that can be used with the version that comes right-out-of the box (no additional libs needed). Anyone know of any good web sites that might have some interesting missions? I checked CombatSim's library but didn't see any there.

Also, I'm playing around with making my own missions, but I can't figure out how to write a mission briefing (apparently, that capability isn't given with the standard Pro Mission Editor). Does anybody know if a tool was developed that lets players write up a mission briefing to go along with Pro Missions?

Take a look at this URL: http://www.migman.com.au/ref/simhis/FA/cork_intro.htm. I've downloaded them just a couple of week a go and they are very good. And (as far as I know) you don't need custom libs to fly them. He has also doen a number of training missions which I (still) find instuctive. Especially the formation flying bit in those missions (Migman, if you're reading this: Excellent work!!!). ALso, http://www.janes.ea.com/ contains custom missions uploaded by users of FA. Haven't tried any on those, tho, so I can't vouche for the quality of those missions. These you can also fly without custom libs.

However, I will try to convince you to try the 714-libs GregP wrote. The flight model is infinitely more realistic then what FA-out-of-the box gives you (Please everyone, this is no flame-warmongering. I know about all the others. This is just personal taste ). I actually had condemned FA to the attic just because of the crappy FM before I discovered custom libs. Now again it has returned to the HD. And the great thing about FA is you can write a wealth of missions in any conflict you want, which IMO is the greatest thing about FA.

About the briefing text: When you've installed FA there an example file: EXAMPLE.MT which you can use as some sort of template. There's also a README file that explains about mission texts.

Hmm... I think I have a bunch of links to ATF/FA sites offering custom missions in my link directory.
The URL is in my signature below.

Look no further my friend!

I've got some cool custom campaigns for FA. There's a WW-III campaign and some others too. They're on my site:
