It's me again with another F-15 question. This one pertains to LGB bombing. I have followed the manual with the proper prcedures, yet I consistently miss the target by a few feet. Once I lock the target(i.e. I track it, then CDES designate it) I set my bomb mode to auto. Is this correct?

Then when the plane automatically releases the bomb and I pass over the target it hits either just in front or to the rear of the target. I notice after I pass the target that the laser designator has moved, even though I locked it on. Do I need to release the bomb earlier? Need some help again fellas. Thanks

This can get kind of tricky. When you designate a building, make sure you are designating a point real close to the base of the building. If you place the point of impact at the "center" of the side of the building, you are actually designating the patch of ground immediately behind the building (the sensor doesn't know theres a building in its path), which can cause an overshoot. Also for a static target you don't need to hit CDES. Lastly, make sure that you start lasing the target about 10-15sec before release (any longer and it seems to reduce accuracy). Good luck.
