I flew from France and landed in England with a smoking engine that didnt got hot.
Are the dials not working? are they just for decoration?

Also I only see 2 dials for RPM and the B17 has 4 engines, where are the other dials for RPM?

1. A smoker doesn't always mean hot, oil blowin off heads, supercharger compressor or cylinder compression leaks, being a radial a lot of oil gets sprayed around and if the storage tank is hit oil will spray on the top cylinder heads but engine temp wont rise unless no oil goes to crankcase, the guages work as the real thing, so it may have not been running hot. Test guage by running engine max rpm on initial engine run up on ground for several minutes- should see temp rise.

2. Engine RPM guages have two engines per guage. Each needle representing an engine.
With balanced power settings needles should overlap indicating same RPM and it appears there is only 1 set of needles. On start up watch guages and you will see the needles as each engine starts.

The engine management gauges don't work, despite what was loudly claimed. Wayward / Hasbro refuse to even comment on it. B17-2 is, w/o question, an awesome "bomber" sim. If you are looking for a B17 flight sim, this isn't it.

Yep... you can do what you want with the engines. Any prop pitch, throttle, supercharger, cowl flap setting (the `manual` suggests these flaps have varied settings but they dont) intercooler setting..... even damaged engines makes no difference to temp guages.
