Well, I've only been playing the quick start missions for now to get a feel for the graphics, etc.

First thing that caught my attention was the few numbers of allied and enemy aircraft. Maybe its just the quick start mission the way its designed but I was expecting more Luftwaffe aircraft screaming towards my Forts...

Graphics: I set the terrain to Speed (detail). This is when you see the 'cartoonish' terrain. My opinion: if I can prevent that damn stuttering everytime I swivel the turrets by doing this...I could care less what the ground looks like.

Almost everything else I left at Balanced except for Damage detail and and Object Detail...both are now at their highest settings.

The tracers are VERY well donw, including the condensation trail left behind and the 'wiggly' line that they draw. I really liked that since it added the visual realism necessary.

Sounds: rock! Very good 'ambiance'.

I haven't flown other aircraft much although I can say is that they padlock feature has a lot to be desired.

One comment with regards to all aircraft: their in flight speed, or crossing speed is excellent. I've noticed that in all flight sims aircraft tend to fly 'slowly' through the air with little perception of speed. Well...B-17 has it right and when those Jerrys scream by your waist gunner position you only have about 2 seconds to acquire and shoot...tough.

So far...its fun. I just wish that in the future we can see multiplayer added since it would be a RIOT.

I'll post some more opinions as I get deeper into the game.

Ta ta for now.

BTW...sys specs for comparison:
Athlon 900MHz (Thunderbird)
Abit KT7_RAID with VIA 4-in-1 4.25a drivers
256MB PC 133 CAS 2 Mushkin brand
LeadTek GeForce GTS 2 32 MB with 6.17 drivers
IBM 30GB 75GXP 7200RPM
x50 CD_ROM

You can modify the Rivers and Roads file for many things. I have so many bandits incoming in "Where are the little Friends" that it looks like flies at a picnic.

Then I lowered the scenario altitude to 2,000 ft, and got all the upper ball turret action I could handle.

Wayward is going to post a guide on modifying this file.
