I downloaded them to my hard drive.

I then downloaded nstools.

I installed nstools.

I restarted.

I then opened up the AVIs and they say no De-compression yadda yadda yadda, and they won't play.

Can you help?

Try downloading Intel Indeo 5 codec and installing it. http://www.intel.com - search developers site for keyword - Indeo

Or try downloading ASUS codec:
http://cgi.asus.com.tw/cgi-bin/dl.asp?filename=vga/agp/v3800/asvd_100.zip
