do the united states still use the heavy exploding rounds for anti-aircraft defense like they did in WW2? Have they become obsolete against the high speed aircraft? They could do what the Vietmanese did. They would just spray the sky with AAA rounds.

To my knowledge, the only AAA piece we have is the M-163 Vulcan, based on the M113 troop transport. It has a 20mm M61A1 Vulcan canon, linked to a tracking radar. I'm not an armor expert, but thats what I can remember. Hope it helps.
