Ubisoft announces details about Ghost War, a PvP mode coming to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, the upcoming installment in the shooter series. They offer images and information on this page where those interested can sign up to possibly participate in beta testing the game next month. For those who don’t want to leave things to chance, preordering the game will guarantee a spot. If you’re on the fence, here’s a trailer and here are more details:

Today, during the Inside Xbox livestream at Gamescom 2019, Ubisoft unveiled Ghost War, the PvP mode for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Breakpoint, the latest installment in the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® franchise. Ghost War will be available for all players at launch on October 4 and will receive regular content updates. Players who want to try Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint for themselves, including Ghost War, can sign up for the Beta taking place September 5 to 8 on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and Windows PC. Players who pre-order any edition of the game will gain access to the Beta.*

Ghost War is an intense 4v4 experience built on the tactical squad play from the Ghost Recon series, where strategy and teamwork are just as important as skill. At launch, players will be able to choose from four classes, Assault, Panther, Sharpshooter and Medic, each fulfilling specific roles on the battlefield as they engage with enemies across six unique maps. New features, such as cover mechanics, impact of the terrain and injury system were adapted from the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s campaign and will bring additional depth to the experience.

Two distinct modes will be available at launch:

  • Elimination is an intense team death match mode with a tactical twist where the new shrinking combat zone mechanics force players to jump into the heat of the fight!
  • Sabotage is an asymmetrical bomb mode where attackers have to plant and successfully detonate a bomb at either of the Bomb Sites, while defenders try to stop them.

For the first time, Ghost War is seamlessly integrated within the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint experience. With the new shared progression system, each player will progress in PvE and PvP with the same character and keep their unlocked classes, skills, customization items and weapons across both modes. Specific tuning will be implemented for PvP to ensure a fair and skill-based experience for all players.

Ghost War benefits from the development team’s learnings from over two years of support on Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands’ PvP. The team introduced several improvements based on player feedback, such as improved detection mechanics and removed class restrictions per team. In Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ghost War will also have dedicated servers, reduced loading screens and improved matchmaking.

Additionally, Ghost War will receive massive post-launch support. In addition to regular balancing updates and improvements, the development team plans to bring new maps, new classes, new weapons and even new modes and events will be added in the future to enrich and refresh the experience over time.

Today, at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Ubisoft announced that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Breakpoint, the latest installment in the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise, will hold a beta phase from September 5 to 8. It will be available on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and Windows PC. In Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ghosts confront foes with the same training and experience that they have. The Wolves, a lethal ex–US military unit gone rogue, have seized the archipelago of Auroa, home of tech powerhouse Skell Technology. The Wolves are now armed with powerful killing machines from Skell’s cutting-edge drone factories. Stranded behind enemy lines and hunted down, players will face an intense military experience as they fight to survive and take down the Wolves and their leader, Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker.

The game stars critically acclaimed actor, Jon Bernthal, as Cole D. Walker, the most formidable villain ever in a Ghost Recon game. A former brother-in-arms, Walker took part in several missions alongside the Ghosts in the past. While his ties with his former brothers still exist, he is ready to do whatever it takes to defend Auroa and pursue his own ideals, which players will discover as they confront him in the game.

“The team was thrilled to work with Jon Bernthal to bring Cole D. Walker to life,” said Nouredine Abboud, executive producer at Ubisoft Paris. “Walker is a complex villain, and it was important for us to find someone who could bring the necessary level of depth to the character. Jon did a fantastic job, and we can’t wait for players to see him in action!”

Ubisoft also presented its new community program, Ghost Recon Delta Company, which will support the passion and creativity of community members with special content and direct discussions with the lead development studio. Available globally and in more than ten languages, this is the largest community program Ubisoft has ever launched. Submissions to join Ghost Recon Delta Company are available at ghostrecon.com/DeltaCompany.

ghost-recon-breakpointBECOME AN ELITE SPECIAL OPERATIONS SOLDIER BEHIND ENEMY LINES

Ubisoft has announced Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, the latest installment in the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise. The game will be available from October 4th 2019 on the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. After successfully rebooting the Ghost Recon formula with Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Ubisoft Paris has created an entirely new adventure, putting players back in the boots of the Ghosts, an Elite US Special Operations Unit, but this time they are stranded behind enemy lines, facing their toughest enemy to date.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military shooter set in a diverse and hostile open world. The game will be playable solo or in up to four-player co-op. Players will discover Auroa, a mysterious island where the most technically advanced facilities meet wild and untamed nature. Home to tech giant, Skell Technology, Auroa has fallen into the wrong hands and all contact has been lost.

The Wolves, a lethal ex-US Military unit of former Ghosts gone rogue, have taken over the island. Led by Nomad’s ex-brother-in-arms, Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, portrayed by Jon Bernthal, they have reprogrammed Skell’s drones into killing machines and are ready to use them, no matter the casualties. Nomad and the Ghosts are sent in on a recon mission, but their helicopters are shot down. Injured, without support, and hunted down, players will live an intense military experience as they fight to survive, take down the Wolves and regain control of Auroa.

Steep slopes, accumulating injuries, and fatigue are new challenges for players to tackle as they test their survival skills in the varied terrains of Auroa. To overcome adversity, players will enjoy total freedom to accomplish their missions and have plenty of tactical options and tools at their disposal, including a set of new military features. They will be able to carry enemies and teammates’ bodies, blend into their environment with prone camo and set up camp with teammates in the bivouac to manage equipment, change classes, and fine-tune their strategies.

They will also be able to choose among thousands of customization combinations to create their perfect Ghost, and keep their character and progression through the game, in both the main campaign and Player-versus-Player (PvP), available at launch.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint will include a robust post-launch content support plan, with regular updates after launch. New story arcs, classes and features will be continuously added, and for the first time in a Ghost Recon game, a new type of endgame content: Raids.
