All good stuff. I'm glad you've recognised the worth of WWII Fighters. I think the cockpit modelling was superb - for its day - and the engine sounds were pretty well spot on. It's a pity that some of the more recent sims could not take a leaf out of Jane's/EA's book; viz: CFS2. The cockpit modelling leaves a lot to be desired by comparison to WWII Fighters' attempt at accuracy and 'feel'. As an aside, WWII Fighters' use of the mouse to move around the virtual cockpit was great, although using the joystick toggle switch in CFS2 is very precise - which is a lot more than can be said for the fighters in B-17, The Mighty Eighth, where P+Alt (toggled) enters the virtual cockpit mode. It floats about so much that it is just about impossible to control the all round view when 'in flight' and is SO imprecise that one can easily get disorientated, especially when dogfighting. As another aside: I have recently upgraded my graphics card to a 32mb Creative GeForce 2 Blaster MX AGP. When playing WWII Fighters, I now notice that blue flashes/streaks appear in the sky and also he target indicators are interspersed with vertical bars. I would appear to have some sort of driver problem. Has anyone any ideas how to fix this?
