Stronghold Crusader 2 Meet the Saladin Video Released

Posted by Donster on: 2014-04-11 17:42:39 in category: Strategy and Wargaming News [ Print ]

Firefly Studios has just released new gameplay footage of the Saladin, one of eight unique AI characters to feature in Stronghold Crusader 2 at launch. The new video includes developer commentary on Saladin’s backstory, choice of units, attacking style and weaknesses.

In a new blog post on the official Crusader 2 website Firefly expand on the video’s content, discussing the Arabic campaign and advances in AI that players can expect from the game:

“A classic character returning from the original Stronghold: Crusader, the Saladin is essentially the good guy in Stronghold Crusader 2. After blasting through the Crusader campaign you will be invited to play as Saladin in his fight to take back the holy lands from Richard the Lionheart and the invading Crusader hordes. Without spoiling anything you can expect to encounter a few familiar faces on your road to confront Richard. Some will be friendly with others out to get you, so keep your guard up and exact revenge when necessary!

Since the team is bringing Saladin back from the first game we don’t want to change too much with regards to his play style. As such when it comes to choice of units and AI behaviour it is largely business as usual, the difference comes when we start attacking Saladin and seeing just how he reacts. Our game’s AI has been built from the ground up with the classic level of Crusader difficulty in mind. Players can therefore expect to encounter a fair amount of resistance when playing against Saladin in skirmish mode, where the AI has free reign to expand its castle and harass the players as it deems fit.”

Review: Zalman ZM-VE300 USB 3.0 External Drive Case

Posted by Donster on: 2014-04-11 16:23:16 in category: Drives & Storage News [ Print ]

Written By: Joe Evans @ Legit Reviews

Zalman is probably most widely known for their cooling products but they also have quite a few other product lines that cover quite a few categories, including storage. In that realm, they have quite a useful little tool with their ZM-VE300 USB 3.0 External Drive Case. As the name implies, it can be used as an enclosure for any 2.5″ drive allowing it to connect to any USB capable computer, but that’s not all. It can host ISO images and mimic or emulate a CD/DVD drive to allow installation of software directly from the ZM-VE300 instead of off a disc which comes in super handy if your device lacks a CD/DVD drive, like recent MacBook Pros, because it works with virtually any operating system.

Here's our initial impression.
