GUNSHIP!: First Look
Garra Cornish

We received a pre-alpha copy of GUNSHIP! late last week, and after playing with it over the weekend we have some new information and screen shots available.

There will be five campaigns, each taking place in Eastern Europe and simulating a Russian/Nato World War 3 scenario. The player will be able to fly for either the Russian, United Kingdom, German, or American forces. Each campaign will have roughly a dozen or more scripted missions.

It is still a little early to get into the game's features, but it is evident that GUNSHIP! isn't being targeted at the ultra hard-core crowd. That said, from what we've seen so far, the attention to detail outside the cockpit is excellent, as are the graphics and eye candy. We have a new build of the game on the way courtesy of Microprose, and once it arrives we'll have a more in depth look at GUNSHIP!'s features and gameplay. In the meantime here are some screen shots of GUNSHIP!'s interface and cockpit views.

GUNSHIP! will be able to be played entirely from the gunner's position. There are controls that enable the gunner to order the pilot to hover, pop-up, and seek cover. The gunner can also tell the pilot to increase/decrease altitude, increase/decrease speed, as well as execute 15-degree turns. Later this week we'll have more information on these features in our next preview using the new build.
