Cobb: We know the game will be tactical but how many units (squads or teams) will be depicted? How large will the battle field be?

Mazurek: Most missions have the player controlling 2 or 3 five-man squads with 2 or 3 individual specialist. There are some missions where the player will have more squads and some where they will have less.

Enemies generally equal the number of player soldiers however there are some missions where the player is outnumbered and really needs to be on his/her toes to succeed.

Currently the largest map can be 100 cells on side. This equates to about 180-200 yards on a side.

The player can map smaller maps but the smallest game map is about 40 cells on a side. This equates to about 70yards on a side

Cobb: Will there be off-board assets? If so, what?

Mazurek: Off bard assets are limited to artillery support.

Cobb: What theaters of operation, nationalities and timeframes will be depicted?

Mazurek: The Game depicts the Western European Theater of operations.

We have the British (the British Paratroopers and the British Army), German (Wehrmacht and the Grenadier) and American units.

I would like to do add-ons to the computer Squad Leader in the same manner that the boardgame Squad Leader employed. I would like to add the Russians, French and Italians. Then work on an additional pack that would have the Fins, Poles, Greeks, Romanians, Hungarians, Low Countries, Canadians, etc. Eventually this would lead to an expansion that added the Japanese, Chinese, US Marines, Australians, New Zealanders, Burmese, Indians…

The game time frame begins 6.4.44 with the American invasion of Normandy and really ends with the German Bulge campaign in January 1945. But the player can make missions/campaigns for Squad Leader that can go right up to the end of the war.
