I saw on the IL-2 site that a flyable P-40 is coming. I don't think it's part of "Forgotten Battles". Most likely a future plane pack/patch.
Forgive the stars top-side. While not historically accurate(from what I understand), they do appear on most a/c in the game.
To Doug and Gonzo who offered suggestions on the decals I needed for this model: a postman on my route told me to check Squadron Mail Order @ Squadron.com. They had a choice of two sets. I'd been looking for a F-86 for quite awhile and managed to find one of them, too.

Nice looking models MFU. Do these kits you build come pre-painted, or do you do it all yourself? Used to do alot of model building myself. Was thinking of getting back into next year when I have more time.

Nice work. I got to get a digital camara so I can show off some of my work. MFU, if you need more info on sites for models and supplies, give me a shout. I'll send you my book-marks.

Got an Sd.kfz222 on the table now about half done. Just to lazy this week-end to break out the airbrush and put the paint to her. Next on the agenda, an A6M2 Zero to offset my Birdcage Corsair.

Buster, I'm lovin it. I have modeled on and off since I was about 12. I found it to be good therapy these last few weeks. Helped keep my mind off my back. Also very relaxing when I don't feel like jumpin in a game to unwind.

They're are all hand painted, Buster. That's the most time consuming but also the most satisfying part of the assembly. Some colors are a pain to work with. I dread white and yellow. They each usually take 3 coats to cover. I have seen a few prepainted models out there. I think Revell made them. Haven't tried one, though. I have to admit that from what I saw they would probably look pretty good. BTW, how is it that you see yourself having more time next year? Do you know something that I don't?

S! manfromups,

Great models.

The P40 will be in the release of Forgotten Battles (3 versions). As will P-47 (2 versions)

I was hoping this might catch Gramps' eye.

No. I plan to be done with the bulk of remodeling on this house though. Then I won't feel so guilty about sitting down and working on a model when I know I should be doing work around here.
