Ok, look this morning we had 3, count'em three "Good Morning" posts. Now folks, I don't know about you, but I usually hit the forum while I'm waiting for the caffine to kick in and the NYT web page to load. And having 3 of the bloody things is just a bit too much, ok? So, Doug, is it possible for the server to kick out an automatic "Good Morning" Post at say 12Am forum time? That way we can all say good morning, good day, good afternoon, or good whatever time it is where you are at that point in time. Then we can all get on with the usual silliness without anyone feeling slighted because so and so didn't post. see what happens when it's too cold to measure and cut plywood -------------------- Check six & aim for the cockpit. Okay, you lost me, Mane. Are you . . .a) Unhappy with the lack of good morning, afternoon evening posts? b) Unhappy with the surplus of good morning, afternoon, evening posts? c) Unhappy with the lack of posts, but being sarcastic and really saying there's too many? d) Unhappy with the surplus of posts, but being sarcastic and really saying there's not enough? f) Would the word "ironic" be more appropriate than "sarcastic"? g) Am I so obtuse that I need therapy? h) Did you notice that I skipped "e"? mu hu, hu hu hu, ha! -------------------- Douglas Helmer Forum Administrator publisher@combatsim.com

Hey, Douglas, you've got to share!Whatever it is you were imbibing when you posted that, and the Acronym definition on Biggs article. ECTS=Eructing Cretinous Termagants Soiree? The "notice the missing e" thingmie had me close to pushing the BS button, but the ECTS pushed me over the edge! People at work are wondering why I sit in my cube and surpress chortles. This must continue!

Note to self:Do NOT attempt "Tongue-in-Cheek" posts on this forum. Sarcasm identification level too low here. Find more humor receptive audience, say the Taliban Homepage (when it come back on line). -------------------- Check six & aim for the cockpit. "We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. Spectre, quote:

Sadly, me old boy, I'm just this nutty without the aid of libations. Glad you got a chuckle, but I really shouldn't be making such silly acronym definitions in our contributors' articles. I just had to do that one about ECTS, however, because they have this rather large, and extremely annoying, Flash-based website. As per usual with such over-priced dreck, no one at the agency who designed the thing ever bothered to explain what ECTS stands for. Sure, it's pretty obvious, but really! (If I overlooked the explanation of their acronym, then I'll do my Emily Loutella impression . . . "never mind".) Rest assured, Spectre, I'll still slip the ocassional bit o' nonsense into those pop-up definitions. -------------------- Douglas Helmer Forum Administrator publisher@combatsim.com
