Well after two weeks of frustration, I finally was able to play long enough in this game to score my first kill... But this game still has some major fixes to do before this game will get fun for dogfights and stuff... First off, because of the low FPS the blackout/redout features do not recover fast enough... I lawndarted in twice because of this lockup... I like blackout/redout flight characteristics but geez, when you pull a split s forget it... The screen goes black and thats it... Your done for... Another thing they need to fix is rearming... After work'en my butt off in the skies, I make it back to my airbase safely, land and go back to the hanger... I figure that outta surfice to rearm your plane but nope, only way you can rearm is to respawn... Now that really chaps my *** , have to spend another 2-5 minutes to get back into the game just to replenish you ammo... God, I don't know why I am still hang'en with this game... Atleast in MS Combat Flight Sim 2, if you can land safely and come to a complete stop you rearm... If you crash then you have to respawn, which makes sense... I guess the only reason I keep trying is I like the idea of this game, I just wish they can produce the goods ... I will give this game a thumbs up on making it difficult to get a kill, you do have to work for it and make small adjustments in your manuaver to six so you don't lockup in the blackout/redout crap... I've been reading the previews on the new WarBirds 3 game, anybody here have any info on that game? I ain't too crazy bout having to pay $25 a month to play a game, it would have to be some kinda game for me to put that kinda money out every month just to play... Cya in the skies!!!

I downloaded the Warbirds 3 sim Jackel. To me it was nowhere as good as Aces High is. I hated the flight model and the planes did not look near as nice. Of course different strokes for different folks. Congrats on your kill. I have only shot down 3 planes myself. As much as I like flight sims, this game does not have enough in it for the fighter pilot as of yet. When they introduce bombers to shot down, then I think that will change. It is too hard to find and shoot at ground troops and artillery. I have only killed the 1 tank to my knowledge in the 109. The Spit doesn't have enough firepower to even slow down a tank. I am usually too tired out to try and find a dogfight. But I am loving the ground war when I can find an organized fight. Good luck!

Kewl, thanks for the info on the game... Yeah, WW2 is going to have to improve for it to be any sustained fun to play... I've asked the makers if they are going to fix some stuff along with about a bazillion other folks so who knows ahahahaha... One thing that would really help especially finding infantry, tanks, and other ground targets would be to allow pilots to get out of that dad burned cockpit view... Its hard enough to see crap without having to try and look over the nose of your airplane or the framework in the canopy... Plus, they need to work on damage... Atleast in MS Combat Flight Simulator 2 when you hit your bandit pieces fly off, small explosions or fires break out or entire wings come off so you know you've hit your bandit or you know he's finished and can break off the attack... They also need to give pilots in WW2 the option of gun convergence so you can set your guns up... And the blackout/redout in WW2 is totally off... I like that feature along with stalls, spins, unequal loading stuff like that but WW2 has that feature way out of wack... A pilot will not immediately blackout (loose blood to his brain) as soon as you make a high g manuaver... It will take a few seconds before a pilot will loose consciousness... Not in WW2, screen goes black and then you're done... It will lock up and never recover... Next thing you know your a lawn ornament ... This game has allot to be desired, Fighter Ace 2 is better than this game as far as plane selection and dog fights go... The only difference I see is the ground targets (vehicles, tanks, men etc.) are other players in WW2 vs AI's in Fighter Ace... For eye candy, CFS2 has some of the best graphics of damage to planes that I've seen so far... Cept in that game, your flipp'en hud lights up with what damage you are doing to the bandit or what he is doing to you... I personnaly don't need that info all the time, I know when I've hit something just by the debris falling away or if I'm getting hit hehehehehe... Especially with a force feedback stick, you know when you've been hit ... Oh well, I'll keep wonder'n the wastelands until I find that one game I've been look'en for ... Realistic flight models, good graphics, ordance options, real time damage, stuff like that... ROFL probably a pipe dream but maybe some day someone will produce that right mixture that makes the difference... Nobody to date has come up with a flight sim for jets that even come close to the prop planes... If it's got wings on it, I like fly'en it but I really like doing 750 knots inverted 100 feet off the deck in a canyon ahahahahaha... Thanks for the reply... Cya in the skies...

Well now, for the first time in three weeks I've been able to play WW2 for two hours straight without a problem... So things might be look'en up!!!

I believe I got two more kills tonight but not sure... The game doesn't tell you if you made the kill or not, atleast I can't see it or figure out how if there is something that lets you know...

I finally got a answer on my questions from CRS... They will be incorporating real damage so you can see debris when you hit so that's kewl... But they won't put an option in for getting out of the cockpit... I'll keep pestering them to change that Their answer was they wanted to keep it realistic but I pointed out that a zoom button ain't exactly real now is it? ahahaha I mean if you was flying for real, your eyeballs don't just zoom in on stuff... So I figure the cockpit view is bs IMHO ...

CRS did explain the blackout/redout and how they have that setup... After learning which keys do what so I can trim the plane out and use rudders and throttle control, I didn't auger in once...

Anyways, that's my latest adventure with WW2... Cya in the skies...

I know you have to have heard about IL2 jackel. From everything I have read and heard, that might be the sim that all others will be judged by for quite a while.
The FM in WW2OL leaves alot to be desired IMO. I guess that is why I have not been flying much. Plus it is nice to be able to see that your aim is on target when you shoot at another plane. Guess we will just have to give it some time.

Hiya Buster!!!

Yup, I've been following IL2 too, even put in as a beta tester but didn't make it in ... After waiting two years for WW2 to come out and all the problems associated with its beginning, now I find myself cautious in my optimism for new MMOG's... I also think that the folks at WW2 seriously need to think about just how far they want to take "realism"... Get too realistic and you take the fun factor out of the game... If I want realistic flight characteristics with a 300 page manual, I have my trusty Janes USAF and F/A-18 to fall back on... But those games appeal to the technical side of my game playing, not the fun side so to speak... The multiplayer in both those games are not what I would call "the hit of the town" type of game... Realistic yes, fun? Not really, atleast not for me... Jane's is actually the complete opposite of Nova's F-22 Lightning III game where the flight models and game are more arcade in concept (not even close to realistic flight models) and keep with the first person shooter type game... In that game, you spend a few hours in the seat and off ya go into the heat of battle... Fun, but also too arcade for me even tho I flew extensively in the Nova flight sims for over 4 years... MS Combat Flight Simulator 2 has some great flight models and eye candy but their multiplayer is boring and bug ridd'en servers take away from the fun of that game... Don't get me wrong, I like anything that has to do with planes, its the game I prefer to play more then anything else... I've played NASCAR4, Rogue Spear, SWAT3 Elite, JetFighter4, Ground Control just to name a few, but I'm still looking for that one game, the one that has the right balance of flight modeling, graphics, and multiplayer (WW2 type of game) that will take hold of my senses and keep me coming back night after night and never get bored ahahahaha... Well, atleast I can dream can't I? ahahahaha And, if that game ever comes along and they want money per month to play then I'll have to sit back and think before I subscribe... If I pay a monthly fee, then I would demand service for my money spent... Three things would have to be garuanteed before I would pay monthly fees:

1. Registered rights to your callsign
2. Registered rights to your squadron name
3. Cheat prevention in the game

If I can get that sort of service I would gladly pay a monthly fee... That might be a pipe dream too, but that's what it would take to get my money on a monthly basis...

WW2 has great potential and could very well be the game of the year but only time will tell if CRS can get it rolling in time to keep its customer base flowing...

IL2? Again, looks promising... I hope them boyz are monitoring what WW2 is going through and learn from their mistakes...

In conclusion, I believe sooner or later with todays technology and computers getting faster and faster and more powerful that eventually some game company will produce that one game that will outshine all the others and will lay down the gauntlet for others to follow... Who that will be I don't know? But whoever does it, will make a ton of money ahahahahaha...
