Just curious how hard it would be to graph a conventional tail onto the B-24 to create the Privateer. I've read that someone was inquiring on maritime missions for some of the aircraft, so this would go hand in hand. Thanks.

I'm afraid the Privateer at C6 is a Liberator with a Privateer skin. But it's anyway a beautiful skin. I think modifying a B-24 shape would not be really difficult.

No JP, the skin C6 is a naval version of the B-24 Libarator. Yes the navy had them. I believe in sending it to AJ, I probably mis-labeled it. Sorry for any confussion I may have caused there guys. I would like to see one done tho. Nice lookin bird in flight.

On my trip this past summer, came across this a/c in Greybull Wyo. The airport was a base for a water bomber company. Caught it starting engines, taxi to take off point and then taking off on film. The following are stills from the film.

Captain Brown has the pics of a former USN Privateer. This plane is basicly a Consolidated B-24D with a single tail vice the B-24's twin rudder configuration. This plane had the same performance as the AAF B-24s. The USN also used a few of the Twin rudder versions, but the single rudder version was the one that was normally used.

Capt Brown,
Nice shots! Would have loved to see it personally. Maybe some company will create a firebombing sim, and I'll finally get a Privateer
Thanks, Storm

The Privateer had a longer fuselage forward of the wing, and the oval engines were vertical, as opposed to horizontal in the B24.
