Finally gave the Snake a good shake-down flight. Man! That 37MM rocks!

The F4U-5 kicks major ass as well. Those four 20MM really tear the hell out of a Zero.

Excellent! Congrats on this fine piece of work. One by one we're losing the "compromises" we were already used to...

Hey, Harry! Gosh - have I been away THIS long or didn't you just tell me you set up a EAW page of your own? I gotta set up a link to it...

Just made some minor cosmetic changes. I slightly altered the out-the-cockpit view so that the P-51B wing is now all green (no white stripe) and has the early style roundrel. I also included Migges sharpened instruments.

Hopefully can do a camo out-the-cockpit wing sometime but the texture splits the wing into several pieces. This makes it difficult to do a distinct pattern and have them line up. (I know, was a bitch to do this for the c.202/205, same split up texture).

At least this will be good for all green P-39s which should be coming.

Maybe now a EAW prop for Tony/C.202/205? Hmm....

how about a true non-mirrored version utilizing HarryM's great prop & cockpit transparency?

Also available now is a "HarryM-PROP-emcised," true non-mirrored, Airacobra Mk I for the Spit slot.

Note: the snap view for P-51 slot is not exactly as clean as I wanted it, but I burned out after HOURS of mucking about with it. *grin?*

Good on you E - S!

Lex

PS Harry ....you did ok too.....
PPS Harry I am REALLY gagging for the Tony to be turned into a true "crate" I think the boys from Brasil have most,if not all of it,already done but not posted yet.I think if the back of the air scoop is reduced by about 1/3 then with the cockpit and prop that is the Ki 61 Hein (Tony) but if a wizard takes the air scoop off completely and puts a radial nose (say zero for example)on it and keep the same cockpit then you would have the first batch of Ki 100 - make a bubble canopy and then you have the final Ki 100 version ahh one day! If anyone wants any info ,colour profiles, line drawings etc for any of these 3 planes please say here or E-Mail me at lexfromlaos@hotmail.com

EAW SUCKS !!

Holy Cow!

I haven't flown a Cobra since Aces of the Pacific! I always thought it was under-rated, in a way... If you could actually get behind a Zero, it was that "boomp! boomp!" from the 37mm, hits in close, the Zero would go down with two strikes usually. Great for ground attack especially.

Is the virtual cockpit "historically accurate" so to speak?

It's great HarryM!! Can we get one for the Spit 2a slot for the Guadalcanal campaign with the correct *tra.tpc and *p.3dz prop files? Also for P51d slot (the P63!)?

The virtual cockpit is the one from the P-51B, I made no mods to it.

Nice work -E! The non-mirroring is a definite improvement.

There are a couple of minor tweaks and additions to make. The medium distance 3DZ I used is not quite right, the prop disappears and there is a hole in the nose of the plane. Also when the wing breaks off it is the P-51b wing with wrong texture. I want to fix this.

I might experiment with trying to use a different *u.3dz file to make the virtual wing easier to texture.

One for the Spit? I'll try to whip one up...

Thanks Harry, it wouldn't have happened without your great prop & transparancy addition (I mentioned in my "news" that I was only doing the "true non-mirroring" for prop-emcised PAW acft. (wanna throw some props & transparancies on an TBF and/or a PBY for us? *grin*)

I've been on a "non-true mirroring" kick for a week or so now... I think it makes as much difference to me as putting sqdn codes on the acft did last year.

I may be up against a wall on true non-mirroring the P-51D. It's going to take a whole lot of work to do (as did the Hurricane! *grin*), probably look into it deeper next weekend.

I'm also thinking of doing an IPO, as my site's been up over a year and is now up to around 43 vistors! (although 18 of them were me, 10 were a buddy revisiting, and 11 were a guy with a netscape startup configuration mistake... BUT that means 4 additional people have been there in a little over a year! LOL)

Just made a minor tweak.

Grabbed the PAW "broken wing" files for the P-39 so if you break a wing you get the correct one.

Inserted the original propless PP51BM.3DZ so the medium view will be correct.

Slightly modified TEX and TES by putting back the original white spinner area because the M view gets spinner tex from the old location.
http://www.redshift.com/~harrym/eaw/skins.html

For the early war stuff it would be nice to have the "US -- ARMY" across the lower wings so the non-mirror would be cool for that.

I also think it would be nice to fix twin-engine planes like the Betty and B-25, maybe will give that a look at some point.

An early war B-17C/D would also be cool.

PAW 1942 lives!

E, I asked this earlier in this thread, I don't think you saw it - how do you do the non-mirroring?
Thanks
