anyone else having trouble with cockpit view jerking about, switching to an outside view for no reason?

In the 'Views' menu, there's an option 'Auto External' which switches to an outside view when you track a plane that leaves you field of vision. Don't know a solution for the jerking though. It's supposed to simulate the pilot's head movement but I find it WAY overdone.
