I must say after reading all the tips otweaking this, this demo indeed does rock!Graphics are good(similar to EAW but better ground detail) and with the clouds off, runs smooth on a P3 450 w Tnt2.The spit does cough a bit too long and departure stalls are not really there, but the FM is impressive! The planes no longer bounce around and the canopy now stays shut.Still dont know about the targeting system.I wish you could select your own target(probably can, just dont know how). You have to get real close for those BB's to make damage(unlike EAW)and I got that warm and fuzzy feeling doing some bomber attacks. And if the strategy aspect to this sim works well, this is going to be a real winner!..BUT!!..Please tell me the multiplayer is stable..Has anyone tried it yet?Oh well..I'm going to buy this anyway for sure as MA was fun, campaign bugs and all.

Hmm..Takes more than a whole spit ammo clip to down a buff..now that not realistic.

Really? Get in close, very close, aim for the pilot or engines. 300-500 rounds usually does it (and keep in mind those are puny .303s in the wings, not M2s)

The downside of course following that advice Old Boy is that your SPIT may have some trouble flying afterwards.

Oh yes it most definitely is, especially if you're firing at the mechanical bits. Read accounts of real BoB combat and see how many accounts are just like that - "Shot all my ammo into him, one engine smoking, damaged." And the photos of shot down Luf bombers on the ground - absolutely riddled with the little .303 holes. Horrible air-to-air weapons.

Like the other guys said, hit the crew area - that means you'll have to make steep diving attacks. Keep the canopy open (as many did in real life, to aid jumping out in a hurry and visibility) and use the "lean" controls to keep the formation in view as you line up.

Actually it's the other sims that are unrealistic in this aspect. My readings indicate the same as Ross said- try shooting down a bomber with the equivalent of eight hunting rifles, it's sure not easy.

I too have heard that the .303 round was rather anemic when it came to air to air combat. I guess that is why the British used eight or more in each fighter. The Hurricane should be the better bomber killer since its guns were mounted close together.
