Hey all, its been a while since I have posted(been lurking though). I've been reading some books about the RAF and wam particarly interested in the Westland Whirwind. Are any of the skinners/3d artists working on one?? If not, well here's a suggestion for one.

I hope so, because I have just added it to ECA Control Panel (v3.4). Nice little low altitude fighter.

Bloody Hell!

You mean I'm not the only Westland Whirlwind fan after all?

They were stationed at Exeter for a while. I have a book all about them at the base, loads of piccies and info.

The Whirlwind is a nice plane.
Ah... Escorting Wellingtons, over Germany...
A resized Mozzie with little modifs can be close enough.
Thanks, Charles !

Yea,

I've liked the look of the Whirlwind since I first saw it in a book a few years back. It reminds me of a mini Mosquito.

Amen to all of the above.
This is one plane that could have really been something with better engines, and different priorities in 1941. First "bubble" canopy I think. Very good gun package, however high landing speed, despite massive flaps, restricted it to hard runways. Still all 114 built saw action in 2 squadrons.
