Oh my, I just have to get rid of this.Perfect career, great wingman, and a breathtaking mission over New Guinea. Don't know how I made it back to the carrier with that rough engine, and after 3 hours of flying (I know I'm a nerd but I never use accelerated time) my lips gasp for that beer in the fridge. "Get this thing down. In one piece." Having practiced carrier landings for hours I really wasn't that much afraid anything bad could happen. On the groove...sheesh, they must have hit the hydraulics...at least gear and hook work properly. Had to break up on the first attempt, nothing special. Next time around, I get 'er leveled out just fine, slightly below the groove. For some reason the LSO keeps claiming I'm too slow. What the...? "This guy must hate my guts", I think. Waved off again, I initiate a standard procedure turn. Third try. Fuel status critical. All of a sudden the Yorktown starts with evasive maneuvers. Huh??? Looking back I see flakbursts in the sky. This is when I had the alarm bell ringing in my head. I ignored the waveoff (I know it's an order) as I was sure I'd make it ("Too slow my *** you..."). And that was a deadly decision. So, EVERYBODY! Listen up! Don't be a baaaa like me - whatever happens, remain calm and never forget your drills. I bow down my head in shame. Below is a photo of me in my shot-up Wildcat seconds before I scr**** it. Print it out and hang it over yer monitor. I apologize for this wasted space, but writing this made me feel better

@ Char, like in EAW I take him with me wherever I go. Once he gets involved in combat, always help him, even when I have to trade a good shot for it. As long as HE isn't busy, he'll be able to watch over me and, in times of heavy air, help me. @ Rhin, I use a program called HyperSnap DX. Check it out, it's great. ------------------ °^°^°^°^°^°^°^°^°^°^°^°^ MeatWater AudioVisual Design http://www.meatwater.com meatwater@meatwater.com http://www.creadesign.de
