Landings seem less demanding under 1.04. I mean, I've had a lot of practice with IL-2, but I'm just not that good. The 109 appears far more tolerant of pranging and rough treatment than it did under 1.03. When I drop it on the runway the ship just bounces, whereas before the landing gear would collapse and I'd be set for a tumble. Not a complaint, per se -- maybe the modeling was too severe before -- just an observation. (I'm flying under full realism, of course.)

You've evidently not taken the beast that is the Bi-1 up for a spin! They probably made
all else less strenuous, as the little rocket that could is really tough!

Always leave yourself a little fuel, as those dead stick landings can leave you
just a bit short...

You ain't kidding -- I've already tried that beast, Speccie!

Of course, I was trying to land it in a village street (one of my favorite pastimes in IL-2, along with flying underneath bridges).

LOL

Something seems different I don't know if it's landings or some other characteristic that plays it's part in making landings easier...Well, I know what I mean.

Possably it's because of the changed stall charactoristics, particularily for the 109. Flying closer to the edge is much easier, as it was supposed to be. The real 109's are supposed to have excellent low speed and stall charactorists and the new patch seems to have approached this much better. The modelling of this for the 109 is always difficult because it has the automatic slats that almost no other ac has. The exceptions being other Messerschmitt types and the La5(FN)/7.

The bonus of this may very well be easier landings.

LMAO @ Gonzo.

Ok, I won't tell you to .... but you have to. Light tapping at first, and not immediately. Be sure throttle is all the way back by hitting #1 key upon touchdown and raise flaps completely, then pull back fully on the stick. A little careful zigg-zagging helps.

I hear that Gonzo. Taxiing the thing is just as tough! You have to take WIDE turns
as if you use brakes to turn faster, the world turns upside-down. I'll stick to the
IL-2. It's a slow beast, but I know how to handle it...
