<Think of this...If you make a real SIM...Users will play this for years..not days>Are you so sure? B2B was a real sim (realistic, at least, at the time) but very few people bought it. Why? While it was a realistic simulation of the Viper, it lacked gameplay elements. I can say this, however, thanks to B2B I found landings in Falcon 4 easy as pie. Anyway, I was fortunate enough to fly a few real sims and I will say that at least one I wuld not fly for more than a few weeks. Anyway, I know we are all dreaming about the one sim that gives us everything we want. For me, Janes A-10 Warthog may have been a step in the right direction. Anyway, I done with the "anyways" and the smilies. Sorry, I lied. ~Virg [This message has been edited by Virgin (edited 02-22-2000).]

Bighead, B2B (Back to Baghdad) was an F-16 sim developed for DOS a ways back. It was, at the time, the most accurate Viper sim on the market. Unfortunately the sim was surrounded by controversy. The sugg. retail price was $100, though the sim could be found for around $60. I managed to get mine for $30. While the avionics and flight model was top notch, the sim lacked many "gameplay" elements. It had no campaign, just a list of individual (but realistic) missions that increased in difficulty. The gfx were well done for a pre-3D acellerator game. One innovation B2B had, was the ability to put a MFD on a mono monitor. It was cool for those of us able to get it to work. The sim was "endorsed" by Buzz Hoffman, who posted many helpful insights on operating the sim. Landings were a bitch. Finally, the sim had a tac nuke that was, to say the least, impressive. Bright white light, EM Pulse, avionics gone, major rumble, inevitable crash. I know of one or two people that actually survived delivering the nuke. ~Virg
