Could somebody please help. I recently upgraded from an AMD K6 II 450 w/Banshee card and SB16. I have been running F4 w/108i2 and all the recent upgraded/addons including DX7a, with no probs, until....I just built a new system, AMD Athlon 650, 128MB PC100 RAM, TNT2 Ultra AGP, with onboard legacy sound proccessor (Epox 7KXA w/VIA sound. I defragged like always, everything the same as I've done, now F4 sound is terrible and a little choppy. I also have the latest S3/NVIDIA drivers. I even tried a SoundBlaster 16 card, still the same. Can someone please help...e-mail me
wingnut270@hotmail.com Thanks in advance.....

Ok, I had the same prob and now I can help someone fix it = )

I have an SD-11 mobo with an Athlon 600 and the DMA with the motherboard drivers was causing the prob. I fixed it by reformatting and NOT putting in ANY VIA or FIC drivers and all is well!!

hi, that onboard sound might be software driven,,meaning slow. When you tried SB card did you disable onboard in bios, should work better with that. I am not that familar with that MB but should be alot better with sound card

Hmm, now that I think of it, Ed's idea is probably mroe realistic because the SD-11 DOES NOT have onboard sounds, missed that part of the post = )

Although, a reformat could possibly fix the problem since you upgraded everything. Although, that onboard sound is most likely the problem.

Thanks guys. I'll try the re-format w/out via drivers first. BTW, when I tried the SB card the onboard drivers and ausio was disabled. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks
