About 4 times I have gotten a "warning" followed by a sound that is somewhat like a steak sizziling on the grill. Hard to explain noise. Maybe like muted rattlesnakes. I look around the cockpit and I cannot find a warning light or anything that I can see that alerts me to the problem. This happened today while I was about 6 miles out on final approach. I had not been fired at during the mission and I had plenty of fuel. Don't remember if gear was down or not --usually is at 6 miles.

I checked the sound files in the program and cannot find anything like it. Did one of you guys put a snake under my seat?

Not sure if the hit is the reason, but you can hit your 0(zero) key and check to see if your viper is on fire.

If that happens again (especially on final with gear out) go to outside view, and check your gear doors. I have had a gear door mysteriously fall off I got a wierd noise followed by a "warning" didn't pay attention to it until I got down and was taxing around. I looked in the outside view and lo and behold the nose gear door was missing.
regards!

I know I didn't get hit, nobody shot at me. The sound only last for about 10-15 seconds. and then goes away. It is not the sound of something tearing or breaking away. I did not put my gear down until I was about 220 kts. It is a low but very audible sizziling, or fizz type of sound --very constant and smooth. The onboard computer gives me a "warning" and then it starts. Real strange ---nobody else ever heard this ???

Does the F-ACK page on the DED report any faults?

Didn't think to check -- spent most of the time looking around the cockpit for a warning light or something. It doesn't last long. Still trying to think of words to describe it. Maybe if you had a small babys rattle and you were shaking it gently but quickly -- it sounds something like that, not a fizz or a sizzle as I first describesd, but a medium volumn constant buzz/rattle sound. Frankly if you can imagine -- a rattlesnakes rattle tied to a small stick and shook gently but quickly.
It's spooky.

If it goes away i bet it's the RWR , go to tactical reference and listen to all the tones produced by the various radars, u will most probaly find it there.

I have never heard a voice saying "warning" associated with that instrument.

Got the noise again today while getting ready to do battle with a flock of bandits. This time there was no voice saying "warning" and it only lasted about 4 seconds. Still no indication of problems showing up in cockpit.

This is definately an "in program" sound. This is part of F4 and I can hardly believe I am the only one who has heard it.

Perhaps if you can identify which .wav file it is in your Falcon\Sounds or Falcon\Sounds\Cockpit directory the filename would give you a clue.

I checked every wav file I could find -- no luck. As you know some of them are very short and I guess in the program they repeat rapidly to give the proper sound. This one must be that way.

I guess I am doomed to stay puzzeled over this. When it happens, there is no obvious visual clue and after about a minute it stops.

Talking about sounds...(no not your ghost sound while flying at a certain moment, most guys will produce a "Windows" beep when I push them. Like the sound you get when you push an invalid key or so..... weird.. and annoying! I exit the mission, restart the mission and its gone.... oh well..
