"Good day all you gents, and ladies, of the EAW community. Its day forty-five since the conception of Radio Free EAW and although there's been a few problems, I'm still with you without missing a day.

TQM, I hope you were able to get "We'll Meet Again by Peggy Lee" that I put up with yesterdays broadcasts. I-Drive seems to be working alright today. Let me know if not and I'll email it to you if I have to. Ain't gonna keep this jive cat down! No how, no way!

You asked what Mp3 ripper I use. To convert wave files to Mp3 and vice versa, there's a nice little utility called ACM-Station that I use. It is also available in a zip file (330k) at Radio Free EAW download site. Try it out, works well for me."

No requests yesterday so I'll just have to take a gander at what I have uploaded on standby to see what I can throw at you hep cats.

Okay, here we go with a few swinging numbers

"Caldonia" performed by Woody Herman and His Orchestra

followed by

"Lester Leaps In" performed by Count Basie and His Orchestra

For my third selection, I'll give you a patriotic tune written shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor entitled

"Remember Pearl Harbor"

following that, we step down to something melancholy performed by Billie Holiday,

"Georgia On My Mind"

I'll close the station today with something again for the enthusiasts of the music of the Civil War era. Another song performed by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir,

"Nelly Bly"

Don't be afraid to make requests!
If I have it, I'm more than happy to comply, even if you've made many requests before, I don't mind at all (that way if the rest of the crowd doesn't like the days selection, I can blame someone else).

You can check out the collection on Audiofiles1.2

If I don't have it, you can be sure that it is on my list of 'must haves' and being looked for.

Be sure to keep that radio tuned to Radio Free EAW. There's plenty more comin'!

Tune your dial to:
www.idrive.com/radio_free_eaw/files/shared

and download them today.

To maintain space, I am forced to empty the racks of anything going back more than ten days. But they are not gone my friends. If theres something that I've played before that you'd like to have, just check out the older archives at:

Radio Free EAW Archives
www.idrive.com/pharaoh42/files/shared
www.idrive.com/pharaoh43/files/shared
www.idrive.com/pharaoh44/files/shared

On more than one occasion, it has been asked how to convert these wonderful tunes to a format that will play over your EAW barracks radio. At the following URL, you will find detailed instructions on just how to do that. Have fun!

Okay TQM, got it!!

You can now download "We'll Meet Again"
performed by benny Goodman & Peggy Lee.

What a pain in the butt THAT was. learned something new about I-Drive. Apparently sensitive to title "length".

My first "fix" attempt was to delete the file and upload it again, thinking perhaps that it was corrupted.

No luck, still got the same results you described; although any other title I selected for download would do so just fine <happy face scratching head in bewilderment goes here>.

Next step was to move the file to one of the archive locations, thinking there was perhaps a glitch at the Radio Free EAW site.
Tried downloading it from Pharaoh44; again, no luck with same results.

Then, just a moment ago, an idea came to me when I selected that file and five others at random to see if this would occur with others.

Others would download just fine but still same results with the one in question. Looking at it and trying to figure out what made it different than all the others, the only thing I could see was that the original file name was longer than the others.

Shortened it and now downloads fine.

Don't ask me why, but it works.

Enjoy!!

Persistent SOB aren't I ?
