All,

I have, very clumsily, bundled BlueyT's desert Kittyhawk II together with the correct views and cockpit so it will fit in the Tempest slot on ECAPANEL. If you want it let me know.

Neville

PS I am doing the same thing to the Curtiss Hawk 81-A2 A.V.G. by Emil/BlueyT so it will fit in the P-51B slot as the P-40E and uses American voices and campaign. Now I know it should be a Tomahawk P-40B but I don't know how to swap the flight model, any hints?

Is this going to be like a total conversion for EAW? (DAW? Desert Air War?)

I mean, as opposed to some textures mods and what-not.

Please send the skin to me, too -- I'll be making a Kittyhawk II of my own, and I need the proper 3DZ files for it. Thanks!

If you do not mind sending masses of e-mails with attachements, could you send me the P-40, too?

Thank you in advance for your effort!

S! Wurger_Flieger!

[...If you want it let me know...]

Ah, if you don't mind, send it! (and the AVG aircraft as soon as it's ready, too!)

bmac444@post.com

[...I know it should be a Tomahawk P-40B but I don't know how to swap the flight model, any hints?...]

The data for the flight model is in two files: one "***.flt" file and the "Planes.dat" file. To move a flight model into a P-51B slot, find the "***.flt" file for the aircraft in question and for the P-51B. Delete the existing file for the Mustang, then rename the "new" file " P51b.flt ". Next, you will need Jeroen van Soest's "EAW Aircraft Edit 1.06". Use it to modify the data concerning armament, aircraft nationality (if necessary), damage model, etc. for your "new" flight model (these changes will have to be made to the P-51B slot in AE 1.06. Save your changes and you have now created a flight model in a different slot in ECA CP. Make sure to store your new "P51b.flt" and "Planes.dat" files somewhere NOT in the EAW directory. Remember that if you open ECA Control Panel again, any changes you have made to the .flt and Planes.dat files in the EAW directory will be erased when ECA CP overwrites files that do not conform to the data for the aircraft showing in ECA CP's 30 aircraft selection slots.

Now there's just one problem to doing this. You almost have to do it in a "campaign" of pre-arranged files----i.e., you have to set up all of the opponents beforehand. The reason for this is the Planes.dat file; this single file controls some of the things I mentioned above, FOR ALL 30 AIRCRAFT SLOTS. If you want to change something later on, say add a different opponent, you will have to open ECA Control Panel. As I noted, this will erase your modifications!
