I recently upgraded to Stab 2.0 and after fumbling around for a while finally got the hang of it. However, if I run the config program for a while I start to get all kinds of problems with the graphics, menu items will dissappear etc. I also am getting error messages and lockups that I never experienced before. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks, Joe S

S'

Yeah I am getting the same, with my wing men keep repeating themselves, even when they are dead. Plus my scenery does not change when in automatic mode.

Have you tried restarting your computer? Configuring the data base in Stab 2 eats up alot of RAM. When your system resources are too low many programs will not run properly. Rebooting clears your RAM...if that's the problem.

This is curious. I am deleting all pointers in memory after using images so the memory should be released.

What version of Windows are you running:

Windows 95
Windows 95 with SP1
Windows 95 OSR2
Windows 98
Windows 98 with SP1
Windows 98 OSR2

What other applications are running at the same time?

Matt.

I have a Dell 450 P2 with 384 MB of RAM. I have almost nothing running in the background. I start out with about 95% of system resources. Each time I change the data base I lose about 5%. Eventually I have to restart. Are you telling me this loss of resourses while working with the data base is not normal?!? There is no loss of resources when I switch terrains (and copy all the related files. It seem to only happen when I make some change to the data base.

Oh I forgot, I am using Windows 98. I have never experience this severe a loss of system performance with any previous application.

Hmmm, may have found something.

Bear with me. Approx how many Skins are you adding before this occurs (rough number is ok).

Are you also saying that if you do not do any adding/modifying Skins, this does not happen???

Matt.

First of all let me say I love Stab 2.0. Having to restart my computer to get my resources back is a small price to pay. On the other hand It would certainly be better if I did not have to do that. Now let me see what more detail I can give you. First of all I have about 170 skins in the data base. The best I can tell is I am completely out of resources and no option but to restart after 9 to 10 skins to the data base. I have a similar experience when I configure terrains with new skins. I do not lose memory just switching between terrains (like the last Stab functions) In otherwords, anytime I access the data base, whether to modify it or use it to add skins to the skin folder, I lose about 5% of my resources. I hope this helps.

Let me add that even the slightest change in the data base has the same effect. For instance if I just modify the name of a skin by one letter, I lose resources.

S!mattm,
I mentioned this to you once before about a game locking if the stab is on during gameplay...I always inactivate it before flying and have had no problems since!
