I'm currently closing out a career with the 111 Squadron (Hurricanes) and have enjoyed it immensely. Lottsa convoy protection early on versus Ju-87's protected by 110's and later by 109's. Then we had a flurry of missions with 110's carrying bombs coming in at 5000 ft.and protected by 109's, led to much fighting just off the turf, lately we're in the 'defending London' phase and when the Ju-88's skim the rooftops it gets pretty hairy.
Great campaign, I'd recommend it.

Hello BarryW,

Congrats on a successful career in what is probably the most difficult campaign in EAW. I kind of burned out after unsucessful Spitfire careers and have been thinking about trying BoB in the Hurricane, supposedly a tougher bird. Do you have any specific tactical advice for handling the Hurricane, especially A2A against the -109 escorts? Thanks!

I have the AI set on 'Ace' and find that even at that level they'll often try to turn with you. After five or six revolutions they usually sense that you're gaining on them and head back to the bombers. I find this is a good opportunity to snap off a few long range rounds, the tracer whizzing by will often send them to their strength which is nearly a vertical climb. I love this as in my slow old Hurri I can watch his airspeed fall to almost nil and then lift my nose and give him a .303 tracer/AP sandwich. It works well for me, once I smoke his engine he's dead meat.
Dunno why they use these tactics, when I fly the 109E-3 in the BoB I use my speed to hit and run against the Hurris.
Of course the most aggrivating thing is watching the 110's make you eat their dust, they're so much faster than the Hurri but in a furball they're also dead meat.
Gosh, I sure love this sim!

Richard, I just had a thought about your comment on the most difficult campaign in EAW. I really don't think it's flying for the Brits in the BoB, I think I'll start a thread asking others opinion......Thanks for the idea.
