Hi Guys,
why are my wingman and the other members of my sqadron not following my commands. I tell them e.g. to attack the fighters. An d a few minutes later they sit on my wings again.
Must I command every sigle attack run?

Thanks Tom

Herr Thanks Tom

Ach- Wingmen and Geschwadder kameraden??
Ve can spend ze whole day on zhis and still not get anywhere!

The shortest possible answer would be.
1) Select a fighter target-(reasonably close- 4000 m? or so)
2) Tell your Kameraden to "target fighters" under the "tactical" submenu
3) Wait for them to peel-off in response to your order.
4)Now go into battle yourself
5) Select a target
6) Tell your wingman to "attack my target"
7)Wait for him to respond
8) You will have to tell then to "disengage" and "regroup" if you want them to come back.
9)Your own wingman will try and stay with you most of the time- and this is what is supposed to happen- my problem is that I lose them within a minute after going into action!.

Zhey should stick with the attack until they succeed, or get shot down-
Does this answer your question?

Danke

E.R.

If the above answers don't run for you you have to do the following:

a) Target your wingman (best if in formation)
b) fire at him until he explodes
c) smile ...

With these easy-to-follow instructions you'll gain some peace of mind and you'll feel GOOD

Wingies do learn. Really they do.
After hitting the silk elevator out of my damaged FW190 I did the F9 tour. While browsing among the B-17s I was astounded to see one of my staffel mates zip into the scene and collide with a bomber, tearing off a wing. They both disappeared in an awesome explosion. Now, I've done that several times myself but I had no idea the impressionable youngsters were going to go that far in copying thier leader.

my problem is that my wingman seems to wait until I get a great shot lined up, then he blows my target out of the air before can squeeze off any rounds, and yes I would like to shoot him down.

Vathek,

One of my wingies favorite moves is to fire at my target before I get close enough to do real damage. Target is warned and breaks away, or starts shooting back at ME instead of wingie.

Artificial Idiots are so much fun!!
