...can't seem to find any settings for it nor does there seem to be any mention of it in the manual. Anybody know how to get force feedback to work? Or does this title not support it?

thanks for any help

Who said this game doesn't need the force Feedback??? It really does. Force feedback is great, It was a great disapointment when I got the game and found out it didn' support ff. Belive me, It really does need it. I've got bored of the game in a couple of weeks. From now on, I won't buy another sim without FF.

Force Feedback... Oh wow so your joystick shakes a lil bit. Personally Im glad I held out for a nice HOTAS setup instead of a vibrator

nah...you're both wrong.

The game is absolutley funking brilliant. It would be nice to have force feedback...because it does make things more interesting...despite it 'just vibrating'.

I love playing it despite the lack of FF

Hmm. Force feedback is a little more subtle than a "vibrating stick". For example, I fly Warbirds a fair bit. My FF stick lets me feel the state of the aircraft..if I am flying with a high airspeed, the stick feels stiff to move..and and speed bleeds off the stick slackens .. you feel the buffet of the impending stall before you depart controlled flight. I have to admit I was supprised at the difference this makes to the immersion factor in a sim. I take my flight sims pretty seriously, I have limited RL flying experience (C150/C172 and motorgliders), so a HOTAS setup was something I looked seriously at..but now, I would not trade my FF stick.. I certainly would not like to go back to a non-FF setup. In the end it comes down to personal preference, but I think flight sims these days should support FF..the technology is out there and it does make a difference. When flying EECH with my Sidewinder FF I actually unplug the power lead..as there are no forces provided by the software I find the slack stick more realistic and challenging to fly the Helo's with. I don't have any rotary RL experience so I can't comment on how realistic this would be. Oh, and I do think EECH rocks..a great sim..no doubt about it.

Granny, that would be a setup I would LOVE to have.......starts dreaming of full force feedback HOTAS coupled with high definition VR... I am sure it will happen one day

For those who think FF is just a shaky joystick, let me advise to trie it. Playing a sim without it is like using a condom, you just don't get the feeling you want. FF lets you feel shooting, landing getting shot. In other sims you feel stalls, torque. In WWII fighters you even feel when your plane is damaged, your plane pulls to one side. As other guy said you get a stiff stick when you're going too fast. Before you judge FF you should trie it.

Yaks.....the more I used it it feels very annoying.....looks like I'm playing an arcade game...HOTAS is the thing to go when you want immersion..minus that vibrator thing, well anyway that FF stick is very useful to your wife
A force feedback chair is cool instead!

have to agree with the HOTAS crowd when it comes to immersion.

i just recently switched from a MS FF Pro to the Saitek X36 USB HOTAS. there is no comparison. i get much more immersion from a genuine throttle than i get from the little turning half-disc thingy that the MS FF has. i realize this will be a personal thing, but, if you have never tried HOTAS, you owe it to yourself to try it. it really makes the "reverse throttle input" to simulate a real helo collective meaningful, among other things. not ever having to touch the keyboard obviously goes a long way towards simulating reality (the Saitek has a seemingly endless number of commands that you can program in).

but, i agree, the ideal setup would be a HOTAS with FF support!

fwiw,
l2s

I got a MS FFB stick for Xmas and love it. But I think part of the problem is that some games implement FFB better than others. I think the best implementation was in CFS(believe it or not), sadly in Janes WW2F its just an afterthought.
