What I'm wondering is this--is anyone able to fly ECA offline and "clean" EAW online and be completely satisfied with both? I noticed in another post one pilot said he didn't fly offline anymore for fear of losing his edge. That's about the way I felt for a month. The transition from ECA gun characteristics to "clean" gun numbers left me mumbling after missing shots I would never have missed offline. I'm not talking about human pilot skill, this is a case of the plane being in range and killable, but the bullets and rounds weren't impacting in the same place I was use to. Gun physics on top of bad habits picked up in over 2000 hours of EAW make flying online an unpleasant situation (at least at times). I find I can't give up my offline careers or fly the clean version offline. What's a poor boy to do? See you over the Channel. Reese

I've had to give up playing with ECA for the same reason. I found I wasn't allowing enough lead for the lower muzzle velocitis of clean EAW. It is especially bad because I have used ECA since the day I started EAW.
It's tragic that I can't fly all those lovely Japanese and Russian aircraft.

IMHO, it is not that big a deal changing versions. I admit that if you try the spit Ix in clean EAW 1.2 and right after the ECA Online 1.21 Spit Ix, it may seem unpleasant at first. I however quickly fall into roll, and normally only require a few turns and shots before I remember how I must fly this baby.
At the moment I fly two flight sims and in EAW I currently use 3 and soon 4 different FM's regulary, and think I do ok in all of them.

The trick is to just don't look at the ECA planes as flying the same "standard" plane, or vice versa, and thereby screwing up because your plane don't respond like you expect it too. Think of them as completly different planes. You don't fly Spit I and Spit XIV in same way for instance (I hope).

This may be hard (doubling the number of planes to get use to for every add-on), and like I say I have to "trim" my mind to the current version by a little "free flying", but I wouldn't say I have more problems with it than going directly to a 190D9 flight from a Hurricane flight in standard 1.2 EAW.

I'm using ECA online 1.21 for both online and offline play. It has the best flight modelling I've seen in EAW so far and AFAIK it uses the same ballistics as ECA 2.0. The only downside is not having access to all the extra planes from ECA 2.0.
