Wow, that F15E looks really good from that angle.

Tiger22,

I'm not sure that that is an "E". Iv'e never seen an "E" without its conformal tanks and weapons load. Also there appear to be no fittings for the LANTIRN system on it. It maybe a "D" model used for pilot training.

You might be right. Anyway, that F15 looks good from that angle. I found a picture that had a F15D in it.

It seems like the F15 above has a darker paint scheme than the F15D in this picture. Maybe it's just the lack of light. They are two different planes because the tail markings are different.

Gents,

The pictures are from the Heritage Flight, taken at Randolph, Tx. The first picture shows an F-15D from the 1st Fighter Wing, Langley AFB, flying along with a P-51D from"Moonbeam MacSwean". The second photo is another F-15D from the 60th Fighter Sqdn, 33rd FW, Eglin AFB, Fl. The pilot was Capt. Matt "Hoss" Wilson, the West Coast F-15 Demo team pilot. Our jets in the 33rd are painted in the Compass Ghost scheme, while Langley paints theirs in the darker Mod-Eagle scheme. Hope it helps.
